He started talking about his shark party back in January around Toby's birthday. Just a few days ago I told him we were going shopping, and his face lit up, he turned to me and said, "for my ssshhhhark party?" His party was two weeks ago.
The boy has been nicknamed "Crash Grayson" from his teachers at school. He is a wild child! He loves to run full speed and falls often. His mind is definitely working faster than his little short legs:) A shark themed party was perfect for this wild animal!
An outdoor movie, games, crafts, and water play was planned for Grayson's party. The day of the party, not even 24 hours after returning from Miraval, it was raining which put a damper on setting up everything outside. Literally 30 minutes before the party started, the sun came out and the party was on for outside.
We had crafts that included shark visors, sand art bottles, and shark tooth necklaces. We also gave out shark pincher's, shark gummies, and stuffed sharks to all our friends. We had our first ever pinata at a birthday party. Kids are crazy about them. It was very popular and I thought it was fitting for "Crash Grayson." Of course, it was hard only letting him hit it twice at the beginning. We had pizza for dinner, sprinkler play, water guns and more. Mama and Papa made margaritas for the adults and snow cones for all the kids.
Steve had a very creative idea for dessert. Instead of a birthday cake or cupcakes, we had a feeding frenzy. Steve lined two, 4 foot white gutters full of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The kids chose there own toppings and the frenzy begun. It was very similar to a shark attacking it's prey.
On the side of my house, we watched Finding Nemo because of the ever popular "Bruce - the Great White Shark". Bean bags, lawn chairs, blankets, popcorn and more candy...it was awesome!
Grayson got 3 stuffed sharks for his birthday...one of which is longer than him. He sleeps every night in his bed with all of them. It's a pretty funny sight. Now when it's time to go to bed, I tell Grayson, "go get in your shark tank."
Grayson had a great time with his friends and family. He is a huge birthday party fan and he says his party was the best! A big thanks for everyone that celebrated with us!
