August - Busy Life and Two Legs

Ron started his first week training with Deloitte in Miami.  He only works with a handful of people locally...but more from other branches.  He is really enjoying it.

The boys started school at Advent.  It's hard to believe this is Toby's 3rd year.  The first few weeks are always exciting.  Toby is absolutely loving his teachers Ms. Tami and Ms. Rose.  His classroom is so cute and he is enjoying some of his old friends and getting to know new ones. Because of our schedule, Toby goes 9-5 everyday.  He takes a nap after lunch and plays strong all afternoon.  Tomorrow is show and tell and he is bringing some of his puppets.

Grayson is adjusting...finally.  It's so miserable to leave him kicking and screaming.  But I know that Toby did it and it's just a process.  One day he will cry when I tell him it's time to leave school and go home.  Just like Toby ended up doing after he realized how much fun it is.  He had a great day today...his 4th day.  He only attends all day Tuesdays and Thursdays so it's been harder for him to adjust.  He took a long nap today and was involved playing with the other kids.  I brought home his first piece of artwork (painting) on Tuesday:)   Terrible mommy didn't get any pics of Grayson in his class...trying to learn from last child...so I just threw him in there to the wolves and hoped for the best:)

We are gearing up at the UCC for the opener this Saturday.  My partner, Robin, and I do all the catering to the 98 Skyboxes on game days.  It's going to be so much fun.  I wonder how many of those 5 hour energy drinks you can drink in a 5 hour time frame??

A few weeks ago, we got Toby's last leg....the Shark Leg.  It's a new type of leg - called a push pin.  There is a push button on the side that sticks out by the ankle and you push that to release the outer part of the leg.  He now wears a gel liner instead of a sock.  It's the type of leg that he will continue to have for a very long time.  Unfortunately it was not fitting properly and we started all over last week.  The Mitchell's, who did the artwork and printing of Toby's pirate leg, also prepared this shark leg for us...for which we are very grateful.  We gave them a picture and the measurements, and Bart scanned it onto a shirt and then our guys fabricated the leg.  It was so cool. It had a hammerhead, a mako, and a great white shark.  Thank you so much Melanie, Pete, and Bart!  We are sorry it didn't work out:)

I took the boys to Gainesville last Thursday so we could complete the casting process for another leg.  I took the boys bowling on Thursday.  It was hilarious.  We all had so much fun!  Toby started using the children's assist at first, then throwing the ball in between his legs, and by the end of the game, had good form.  His mommy taught him...and his mommy is good at bowling;)  Grayson squealed like a little girl and clapped every time the pins fell over.  He used the same ball as Toby.  Yep...you heard it right...he (no lie) carried a 9 lb ball from the computer station to the lane all by himself.

On Friday we went to the Butterfly Museum.  Grayson was not happy about the butterflies at first because they were flying right up in his face.  He got used to them.  He especially liked the little finch's.  Toby's favorite butterfly was the "Owl".  I had a butterfly land on my shoulder and hang out on me for at least 5 minutes.

We love you all!
