Toby is taller! Last week we went to Gainesville for another height adjustment on the prosthesis. Our check up wasn't for another 6 weeks - making any adjustments 3 months apart- but our little growing Toby couldn't wait. Paul added 1/8 inch making a total of almost one inch taller since May! Now he's standing tall and running like a mad man! It'll be interesting to see if we can make it 6 months without getting leg #3!
Toby has really enjoyed school. Last Friday when I dropped him off, he just gave us a sad face but didn't cry. When I picked him up, he told me all about his snack that he made - which was a mixture of pretzels, animal cookies, M&M's, and goldfish! Sounds delicious to me! Here's Toby's teachers... Ms. Mindy on the left and Ms. Dawnadee on the right:) They are terrific!
Prosthesis Tidbit of the Week:
How much can you adjust the height (insert spacers) on the prosthesis before you have to get a new one? Well...just so happens we found out this answer last Thursday in Gainesville. Toby's current Prosthestis can only be heightened 2 inches before the screw would not reach from the foot to the shell of the leg. Toby, since May, has had 1 inch total of spacers put in. Toby will either outgrow the height allowance for the prothesis or he will outgrow the width at the top of the leg...which ever one comes first - only time will tell:)
HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!
