Toby began taking pony riding lessons at Black's Ponies last fall. Every other weekend, he had a lesson riding FURY, a black pony. Toby is absolutely in love with Fury. He first met Fury at Summer Camp at the farm. When I asked him what type of birthday party he wanted and who did he want to invite. He told me he wanted Fury to come to his house. So of course, we made it happen.
On Saturday January 7th (the day after his birthday), we hosted a Pony party. We had Fury and another larger pony named Pistol. We had about 20 kids in attendance. It was so much fun. We had cowboy hats, horse hand print craft, horses on sticks handmade by mama, an awesome horse farm cake. We played musical hay bales, brushed the ponies, watched the Kentucky derby race, fed the horses marshmallows, carrots and peppermints, and ran wild in what was the most beautiful day of the new year.
Toby will continue to have riding lessons as long as he wants to. We want to embrace whatever type of sport he wants to do:) His plans are to ride a pony western style for a couple more years before moving up to a small horse English style. Happy birthday big Toby!
