Christmas 2011

The preparations of Christmas are just so much fun with little ones.  Grayson being 19 months old, and Toby almost 4, the festivities were so memorable!  We picked out a tree and decorated it together (Grayson's first time), had breakfast with Santa at the University Center Club, ran the jingle bell run downtown, and did the hay ride through the living nativity scene at Killearn United Methodist Church.

For Christmas, Grayson got the big cardboard play house you see below, a grocery cart, a guitar in the shape of a dog, a new The Hungry Caterpillar bed set (with Toby's old low profile bed), clothes, an MP3 player,  and many more awesome toys.  He was generally excited about all the craziness but really had no idea of what was going on:)

Toby got dragon imaginex toys, a cash register, an ice cream maker, a new tall bed with the Batman theme bedroom, and many more awesome toys.  From santa, he got a big boy bike with training wheels and a batman helmet.  We were so proud of him.  Jumped right on, and rode up and down the street with very little help.  He picked it up so fast and loves it.

The best part of Christmas for me was the conversation I had with Toby Christmas Eve.  I asked Toby, "Do you know the real meaning of Christmas?"  He replied, "yes mommy...it's jesus' birthday."  So sweet!  All during Christmas break, he wanted to play Bethlehem.  He would say, "mommy you play Mary, grayson will be baby Jesus, and I'll be the angel that tells you you are pregnant."  Woah!  We had to reenact the birth and everything.  It's amazing how he just gets it.  He understands the birth of Christ and what Christmas really means.  He asked me why is Jesus still a baby every Christmas.  I explained to him that the day is just his birthday and we celebrate when he was a baby and was born.  I told him in another conversation one day the Jesus died and lives in heaven.  He said, "No mommy, he's not dead.  Jesus Lives!"  He almost made me cry.  He told me Jesus is alive and lives in Heaven with Nana.

We are very blessed to have such two wonderful boys!
